      HALFMOON FACING CLOSURE

      As you may or may not have heard, it gives us great sadness to announce that our beloved music venue is facing closure on January 31st. Due to a combination of rising rents, rates and wholesale beer prices, never-ending increases in alcohol duty and the current economic crisis we will be reluctantly closing our doors after 50 years of music heritage. This will mean a great loss to thousands of music fans, and to the many artists who perform here. It is also a huge blow to the many up & coming new bands, who need small sized venues such as this to cut their teeth in.

      Please show your support by voting with your feet - come down for a drink, and have a look at our fantastic programme of forthcoming acts in the next and possibly last two months of business. In light of the closure some very special bands have agreed to come and play the Halfmoon one last time before it's gone. These include The Wonder Stuff, performing on December 16th and more are being confirmed for December and January as we speak.

      Wed 09| AMY WADGE feat HAYLEY COWAN Having supported the likes of Van Morrison, Jeff Beck and Damien Rice amongst others this Halfmoon favourite returns £8adv/£9door 


      Thu 10 | LIGHT OF DAY LONDON '09 This great cause returns with the line up so far of Joe D'Urso + Jesse Mallin + Willie Nile + Marah, still some names to be confirmed £25adv/£27 door

      Wed 16 | THE WONDER STUFF 20th Anniversary of the band's HUP album. The album will be performed in full live, plus more £20


      Thu 17| LIMEHOUSE LIZZY The guys return, this is one of those acts that make you grateful for live music £12

This will be a New Year's Eve to remember, so get practising "Should auld acquaintance be forgot? And never brought to mind..." £20
